VOACAP app for iPhone and iPad

VOACAP is an iOS version of the time-tested Voice of America Coverage Analysis Program for predicting high frequency (HF) radio propagation. The outstanding feature of this HF prediction tool is that once the application is initialized, it runs as a standalone application. No internet connection is necessary. This is highly useful in locations where HF communication is critical or in areas that are remote, primitive or under emergency conditions.

The initial version is designed as a companion to the Winlink radio system and produces results that match the propagation predictions produced in the RMS Express application.

This application is a brand new implementation of the VOACAP model. None of the original code or libraries are used in this version. All fortran code has been rewritten in Swift which required significant restructuring. The developers did extensive testing against the original fortran code. However, the developers request feedback for any discrepancies observed between the RMS Express prediction and this application.

Features:
Stand-alone operation subsequent to initialization. No internet connection required, making this app eminently useful in emergency conditions and in remote and primitive areas where HF radio communication is critical.

Stations display color-coded reliability prediction viewable on a world map.
Current location acquired via GPS or can be manually entered as lat, long.

Parameters include sunspot number, month, hour, location and range of receiving stations to calculate.

Calculates propagation to Winlink stations using the RMS Express propagation model parameters. Please contact developers for defaulted parameters.
